| At least I think this is fascinating... John Tyler, the tenth president of the U.S. (1841-1845) has two grandsons who are still alive! When Tyler was in his 70s, he fathered a son. That son would go on to father two sons of his own in the 1920s, when he was in his 70s. They're still with us. Imagine being able to say that your grandpa was born in 1790, when George Washington was still alive, and was president twenty years before Lincoln! | |

| That's absolutely amazing! It sounds like a tall tale, doesn't it?
I can just hear a group of old timers:
"My grandpa was born in 1875." "My grandpa was born in 1870!" "MY grandpa was born in 1790."
I wonder if that's the furthest reaching living historical connection.
