She was very complimentary of the portrait, and thanked me for drawing it. She also said that she was very touched that her portrayal of Caroline still was so dear to people even so long after the show had ended. What a sweet lady!

Oh, I change my avatar quite regularly. If it's a rainy day, I use a rainy avatar...if it's windy, I have one for that, too...And then I like to use different paintings, and use seasonal themes.....Tonight I was watching The Andy Griffith Show, so I used a picture of the two main characters for my avatar tonight. My avatar is just about the only kind of change I deal well with. OH. WOW. 135245

I too have a place I keep special notes and letters in. Pride of place are the letters Karen wrote me 30 (gulp!!!) years ago! They're very personal and I'll never part with them.
