It's Migraine Season

Hi all. Just a quick note to ask for your prayer support. Every fall when the weather turns cold I suffer from migraines. That time is about to start. I do have medication that I get from my dr but each year when I start taking it, it makes me ill. I am ready to call the pharmacy to get this year's supply but I don't have time to get sick. I just ask that you pray that I can bypass this illness. They are barametric pressure headaches and last usually til Feb or March. It makes for a very long winter.

Hopefully you wont suffer too bad this year. Is there another medication you can get that won't make you sick? Go for short walks. Any kind of exercise is good for the whole body.

Thanks everyone. I talked to the nurse at the dr's ofice and she told me to call for the meds and specifically ask for the drug that I had taken years ago, instead of the generic name brand that they have been giving me over the past 2 years. Hopefully it's the generic stuff and not the real stuff that irritates me.

Yep, those generic drugs are really bad sometimes. My mom takes something for high blood pressure and the generic gave her a real bad cough. It took about 6 weeks to get the generic out of her system before she could feel better. You don't save money if you just end up back in the Doc. office.

Gee Lorrie, my headaches seem like nothing compared to what you are going through. But I appreciate your prayers and I will continue lifting you up as well. Isn't it amazing that we can do this for each other.

I called to order my drugs. But when I went to pick them up I was told that my beneifts card from work has been terminated. I would have to pay full price for the medicine. All weekend long I was almost fuming at my boss because I had heard rumours that he had pulled the plug on all benifits.
I saw him yesterday and he sounded clueless. He told me to call the accountant who takes care of all the paperwork. When I talked to her she didn't know why it would have been terminated. Sooo, that's one blessing....I still have benefits. But now she is checking with the insurance company as to why my card was terminated.
I hope they figure it out soon. I am really having a hard time, the migraines are getting worse. Please pray that I can get the meds soon. Today was definately NOT a good day.

I went to work today but was sent home after working 50 minutes. It was raining here and the headaches were unbearable. I came home and slept all day.
I talked to the accountant this afternoon. She said that new cards were issued in April but I didn't get it, must still be in the office at work. Will ask about it tomorrow. If it isn't there or we can't find it, we have to order a new one. Until then, I'm not able to get any meds. Please keep praying. I'm hot very healthy at the moment, not fun.

Wow, hope you get this worked out. Stay off the computer for awhile....that won't help. Rest up!

Yes...being in front of a PC screen could getting your headaches even worse. Rest a little, don't read so much and don't tire yourself. That could work, at least for a while.

Today is a better day. Yesterday everything hurt except my freckles.
I spent about 30 minutes in front of the computer yesterday, that was enough. Today is better tho.

Geesh... I thought Canada had socialized medicine. Doesn't that include medication too? Sorry to hear you have to go through hell to get your meds Marilyn and shame on your employer. I hope it all gets resolved soon for you my friend.

I got a 2 wk supply of my meds while a new benifit card is coming. It has been ordered. Aparently a new card was issued in April but it was never given to me. Now a new one has to be sent again.

That's great news, Marilyn! How long do they think it will take until your new card arrives?
