It looks like Anne of Green Gables is finally coming to Blu-ray.

It's listed as a 30th Anniversary Edition Blu-Ray at $49.98.  It's a little pricey, but the Anne DVDs have always been a little expensive.  I will probably wait for more details, a price drop and reviews of this before buying.  

The screenshots from the "HD" dvds that Carol posted didn't look like they had much more detail than the original DVDs that she posted in comparison, so I never bought that version even though the 5.1 surround sound would have been nice.  I'll take widescreen if I have to, but I prefer the original aspect ratio.  Widescreen is nice, but for these it looks like they only added a little bit of picture to the sides and filled up most of the screen by stretching the original picture.  

The deciding factor on if I buy this on Blu-ray will be if there is a noticeable improvement in picture quality from the DVDs I already own.  Anne was only shot on 16mm film so it will never be the quality of the Little House Blu-rays, but I've seen stuff from 16mm look pretty good on Blu-ray.
