what is the name of the theme song done for the show

Apparently, it's called (get ready for this) the "Little House Theme". The closing theme is called "When I'm With You". Unfortunately, we only get to hear about three notes of the closing theme on TV Land and Hallmark as both networks run promos while they scrunch up Laura and Jack running down the hill on the right side of the screen.

This drives me crazy! And I think it is a shame that you cannot read the names of the people who worked on the show. I'm one of those weirdos who likes to stay in the movie theater until the final credit has rolled, even if I'm sitting in the movie theater all alone by then and the cleaners are trying to get going with their work. And I also hate that the LHOTP DVDs cut out the opening for subsequent episodes on the same disc.....we miss the guest stars' names by them doing that, unless they have a more minor role and appear at the end.

Yeah, that bugs me about the DVDs as well. Also, they used the wrong version of the theme song for the season 2 DVDs. They used the season 1 version, which is quite different from the season 2 version. Starting with season 3 and going through at least season 6, the DVDs show the opening for every episode. I'm guessing that's true for the remainder of the seasons, but I haven't watched any seasons later than season 6 on DVD yet, so I can't say for sure.

That's good to know that they at least started putting in the opening credits with later seasons. I am only borrowing someone's season 1 DVDs, but they also have season 2, so hopefully I can borrow those when I'm finished with season 1. Eventually I would love to see all the seasons. I really like watching them in order. I've generally been watching about 3-4 episodes per week.

I talked to NBC 20 years ago they said that there was a little house album out there somewhere don't know if it's true or not. I never found it.

I would not be surprised. I have an A-TEAM CD. It has the theme music plus a bunch of other songs used as background music. So there is likely a LITTLE HOUSE music album or CD or something out there somewhere.

I love the Little House theme it's sooooooooooooooooo catchy! I also love the songs they sing at church such as Bringing in the Sheaves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
