Any one finding any yet?
It is probably a little early but with the warmer nights and sunny days maybe it won't be much longer.

We still have quite a bit of snow on the ground, so it's a little early. But I would love to have a big t-bone steak smothered under a pile of fresh-picked morels. MMmmm!

I had some morals once. Traded 'em for a bicycle. It was a good bike though, and I wasn't using the morals anyway, so I figured, what the hey?

Well, that's not such a bad deal. I traded my self-respect for a big screen TV and my basic human dignity for a date with a Hooters waitress.

Well... ...and that's about all I can think to say. LOL.

But, no mushrooms around here yet either. The snow is finally mostly melted, but the ground is so muddy from it that I haven't ventured onto the lawn yet.

I found several really stinky mushrooms in my backyard today. They are red with orange splotches and grow like octopus tenticles in the ground. They are very discusting. My dad found a snake under the go-kart. He said it was solid black with brown designs on his back. Scaryness!!

Sometimes life throws you under the bus. You gotta hold on for dear life. Don't waste one single day.

A question about morels:

Is it because the morels don't grow in the same spot every year that makes this fungi so expensive?

Also, I read it in Wikipedia that the morels grow abundantly right after the forest fire. So hey Rob, does your area have them since there was a fire near your area not long ago?

Maybe that's what makes them expensive, Lily. I've always just heard that they're "hard to grow" commercially, but I was never sure just what that meant.

Oh, I hadn't heard that about forest fires! We should have a good crop this season. We're coming up on the one-year anniversary of our fire.
