| The Grand Rapids Public Museum is going to have an exhibit of the Titanic in 2012 - which will be the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. It'll have full-sized replicas of some of the rooms in the Titanic, including passenger cabins, and it will also have artifacts brought up from the ocean.
The Story
I want to go to this exhibit!!

| I saw that on the news last night. I went to one in Columbus several years ago. If it is anything like that one it will be awesome. | |

| Oh wow! I just read that at the same time the Grand Rapids Public Museum is going to be hosting the Titanic exhibit, they'll also be opening a companion exhibit on shipwrecks of the Great Lakes! (I wonder if they'll have information on the shipwreck that killed Caroline's father.) | |

| I am so jealous! I want to see the exhibit AND go to the Grand Hotel!!!!! I am in the wrong state! It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart | |

| We have a Titanic Museum here in Branson. I took my aunt one time, before they were completely finished with it....it was FANTASTIC! As you come in, you are greeted by the "crew" and given a boarding pass with your "Character Name" on it....one of the real passengers names......you tour the ship, see everything on it, see the clips, hear the music and all....when you are finishing up....you take your boarding pass and go by a wall that has ALL the passengers names on it, in the order of what level they were sailing, 1st class, 2nd class, etc.....as you walk and read, you compare your pass to the names, only to find out if you survived or died.....kind of a spooky ending to a wonderful tour....My aunt and I lived....my ex-husband....DIED.... CANCER FREE!!! April 9, 1998-April 9, 2025-I AM A SURVIVOR!!! | |

Wow. That must have made the experience much more intense. "Willie, were you or were you not looking at the corsett ads in the catalogue?" - Nels | |

| I hope it does come to Houston. Its nice to live within 30 miles of a big city when things like this comes along. I got to see Body World a few years ago too. THAT was amazing!! The tour sounds amazing! What a creepy end to it, though. - Gin wrote:

I hope so, too, Gin. It sounds like something you'd really enjoy!

| Yes Gin, you may be in luck....it might be like the Princess Diana exhibit that traveled all over the place. I hope it comes your way too! Rhonda, a couple of years ago when we were planning our Missouri trip (which fell through), that was one of the places I wanted to go. I'd checked out the website and knew that it was a must! It sounds really cool. | |

| Oh, really?? Too funny! It's just one of those places we would like to visit---St. Louis of course, and for me, the LIW sites. There is a possiblity of it this summer actually---we have friends that went last year and would like to go back to the LIW sites again this year. I honestly thought Bill would say no, because I believe he would rather watch paint dry than go through the historical LIW sites. But, he is all for it, since he'd have a guy along for the trip to pal around with. But we're both nervous about the cost of the trip---doesn't sound like much, but with gas prices right now....yikes! | |
