| Not only very sweet...It's a lesson for all us. Sometimes, animals acts better than human beings. Maybe "civilization" doesn't contamine them. Good for animals! Vanesa. | |

| I fall in love more and more with elephants! Actually, I am fostering a female baby elephant in Kenya. Her name is Naipoki Naipoki is 6 months old now and she was rescued from a well that she fell at. Here she is I should be getting a color painting from her sometime next month | |

Vanesa. So very true, Vanesa. I did think the one part was funny, toward the beginning when the group of females all came to help, and the on was taking a drink. Can't you just hear the conversation afterward? "Um, Myrtle, did you NOT see the rest of us trying to help Maude's poor innocent baby?! And you couldn't wait a minute to quench your thirst?! Shame on you!" This whole process seemed to take a very long time....I am amazed the baby did not drown. How terrifying for the poor little one. And the mother....you can kind of sense when she starts going into panic mode. Carol, that is so wonderful what you're doing. | |

| Very true. At first it was almost funny, and it's easy to imagine that kind of conversation if elephants could talk. Then, I was afraid, for the little one seemed to be so scared...Happily all ended well... Vanesa. | |

Thanks. It was hard not to fall in love with the orphan elephants. I enjoy reading the keeper's diaries of their adventures. I tell you, they are like little kids! There is another girl elephant named Sities, she's 1 year old and she used to be the baby until Naipoki (the one I'm fostering) came along. Naipoki is 6 months. Sities at first was jealous of Naipoki and would push her to test her. The other older female elphants love baby elephants and sometimes pick a favorite. Well, as soon as Sities saw that one of the bigger elephants was giving Naipoki affection, she would intervene. They'd start fighting so another older elephant would get between them to make them stop That's different now... Sities and Naipoki have become best friends now and each morning Sities checks up on Naipoki to see if she's okay and during games, they are practically joined at the hip. Here is a picture of Sities following Naipoki
