Got a New Computer

Finally broke down and got a new one. My old "junk e-machine", lol, was still working fine, but it was getting outdated as far as graphics and such, so during my time off, I did some homework on them and upgraded to a Dell. Ah, but a super-charged Dell, not off the rack....

Dimension DM061/ upgrade from E520
Windows Vista Home
Intel Pentium Dual core CPU with 2.8 Ghz per channel
1.25 Gb RAM
Intel G975 Chipset
250 Gb SATA Hard drive with DataBurst cache (10,000 rpm)
19" flat screen monitor
CD/DVD RW (dual layer)
256 Mb video card

Sounds cool huh? Now if I just figure out how to use half of that stuff, I'll be ok. :think:

DUDE, you got a DELL!!!! Poor eMachine..........

Not sure about that Vista stuff.....a lot of people are not happy with it......hang in there....you'll figure it out! :unsure:

Congrats., Larry! I know what you mean, about having a new computer with a bunch of cool stuff and not really knowing what half of it is. Been there, done that!

Actually I can't yet. Smiley Central hasn't got a Vista version yet. I have ran into a few problems along those lines, but nothing major. All in all Vista isn't too bad, but it does take up a lot of memory, so anyone who has an older model pc and don't know how much memory they have, I'd avoid upgrading.

Congrats on your new computer! It sounds like a good one :) Does it have the new Microsoft Office on it? At my old job, someone installed it on a computer just to "test" how we liked using it, and it was really different. Enjoy your new toy! :)
