20 mile skydive

Air Force Colonel Joe Kittinger made a parachute jump from an altitude of 102,800 feet back in 1960. I never heard of this. It's amazing!

Oh my gosh, that is truly incredible!! I'd never heard of this either. This was back in 1960?! Has anyone tried this since?????

Apparently it's still the world record, Amy. I found an article that said that an Austrian skydiver named Felix Baumgartner planned to jump from 23 miles up last year, but it was cancelled.

Wow. I am kind of in shock that this hasn't been attempted over and over again. Can you imagine being able to live to tell this tale?! Yes, fragile indeed Rob! OhMy
