| She seemed to pretty much have her act together, unlike so many other child stars. As far as I know, she did not go off the deep end and get into drug addiction or other things that seem to entrap so many young stars. She seems like she was a really nice girl. Reading about the kissing....yes, that would be so embarrassing for a young person, I would think, having to do that in front of all those people and receiving direction about it! Actually, I think it would even be embarrassing to have to kiss in front of all those people as an adult, especially kissing someone you do not even really know. Didn't her character on BRADY BUNCH give Bobby his first kiss? | |

| I like Melissa's personnality a great deal. Melissa Gilbert and Alison Arngrim doesn't seems to like her much, but after all what I've read about MSA, I think she was a simple, nice girl who acted exceptionally well. She was an actriss, but she didn't have the personnality of a "star" and this is what it is appealing of her. Vanesa. | |

| It sounds like she is more of an introverted person, and sometimes that may seem like someone is unfriendly when actually they are just a different personality than an extrovert. I suspect that Melissa Gilbert and Alison Arngrim are more extroverted types, so that may be why they did not get along as well with MSA. Also, I do think she was a few years older than Melissa Gilbert, and when you are young like they were, a few years can make quite a difference in who you want to "hang out" with. | |

I agree with you amyk.....I was very shy growing up and I know that people thought I was conceited. I went through all my school years feeling misunderstood, until my senior year of high school when I finally came out of my shell. I can relate to Melissa Sue, and it was worse for her because it seemed she had a very strict and rigid family (at least mother), which had to make her seriousness to the cast members seem all the more 'magnified'. And I also agree about the age difference between the girls making things a bit more difficult too.

| I agree, I was the same kind of girl than you, Amy, and sometimes people who doesn't know me very well had a wrong idea about me. They thought I was haughty, when I only was SHY and liked t read and to learn things. Vanesa. | |

| Yes, I can certainly relate with you Vanesa. Although you'd never know now that I was ever that shy....now people can't get me to shut up! | |

And me too! You can add me to the "club", too. I was very, very shy as a young girl, and like both of you, my shyness was often misunderstood by other kids. They often thought I was stuck-up or unfriendly. I always associated closely with Mary because she was so much like me in personality. (And my best friend was Laura through-and-through!) Once I started to be homeschooled, though, I really came into my own. My mouth suddenly turned on, too. And now my Dad jokes that I'm making up for lost time. People who didn't know me as a child have a hard time believing that I was ever shy.
Yep, that's me! And my 'personality' shifted to being more like Laura than it ever was Mary. My best friend has commented on how much I remind her of Laura. I never thought I'd see the day when that would be true, but I guess it is! I wonder if Melissa Sue is more outgoing than she used to be. She seems to be, just judging from the interview with her and Dean Butler. Still a bit mellow, but a tad more open, I think?
