| Singer Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London home this afternoon. There's no official cause of death, but she had a long history of drug and alcohol abuse. She was 27. She joins the "27 Club" - that group of musical artists who died at that age. It includes Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Brian Jones, Kurt Cobain, and Jimi Hendrix. | |

| I read about this on FoxNews this morning. How sad. She seemed to be trying to overcome her addictions. | |

Wow, I had no idea they all died at 27. I knew they were young, but I didn't realize they were all the same age. And interesting that they were all such unique singers/songwriters. None of them fit your 'typical' mold. All so gifted, all gone too young. My heart goes out to Amy's family and closest friends, who no doubt tried over and over again to get her the help she needed. Dealing with my own sister who is an addict, I know the feeling of hopelessness and the dread of one day getting that phone call. - Rhonda wrote:
- WOW! And SCARY! Too much pressure on the young people growing up these days, whether famous or not.....makes me wish I could hug my oldest right now, he'll be 27 in November....
I can hardly believe BJ will be 27! To think he was about 15 years old when we first met on the forum. And yes, Rhonda, I know what you mean....when you hear about a young person dying, specifically at the exact same age as your own, it affects we moms profoundly. Yes, Amy was a grown adult, but still, part of me feels like she was 'just a kid'. | |

| This type of thing doesn't shock me anymore. It's like dying young is normal in our society now. It's just too darn sad. I feel sad for her friends & family. “Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it... Yet.” ― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables | |

| I am sorry but I cannot feel bad for drug addicts. They get themselves into it. It's it really sad though. My brother has his own addictions. Another brother has been clean for about 15 years. LETS GO PENS! | |
