GMA's Top 10 places in America

This morning Good Morning America had a segment on America's top 10 most beautiful places. The two places they chose to focus on in their segment were:

Point Reyes, California (Carol or Rhonda, have either of you been there?)

And....


Sleeping Bear Dunes, Michigan!!!


What a shocker!! Not that it's not amazingly beautiful, but honestly, Michigan is not usually 'recognized' often enough for its beauty, so it's surprising and lovely to see!


My family and friends and I all went there two years ago. I'd been there years ago, but for the first time was there from "Empire, Michigan", which give views that you don't get anywhere else; the views that you'll see in this segment. The only thing I'm surprised about is that they didn't make any mention of the "Sleeping Bear", and show how you can actually make out the bear in the landscape.

Amy, I have never been to Point Reyes, California.....However, I CAN see the bear......Wish I could take a vacation, I am so ready for one....LOVE the pictures!!!

Ohhhhh, I wish you could take a vacation in Sleeping Bear Dunes, Rhonda! You'd be driving right through my neck of the woods (and Amy's) on the way up! And you KNOW that Amy and I would be waiting to give you a proper Michigan greeting.

Indeed we would! Honestly, that was a spot that we did not want to leave....we just kept drinking in the beauty. I could live RIGHT there in Empire. THIS would be a neat vacation destination spot for we Michiganders to meet one day. (and a certain Missourian ---is that a word?? ). Rhonda, you can hitch a ride with Savannah & me! We'll meet up with Pam and Lori and Rob and whoever else want to come! Hey, I can dream, can't I???

Carol, whoa, those pictures are gorgeous...I can't pick a favorite! That last one reminds me a bit of Prince Edward Island, no? Just beautiful.

Great photos though! Carol the last one reminds me of some of the surf beaches around here.
