Here are some hungry hummers in Virginia making up for lost time after Hurricane Irene kept them from feeding for a few days...

Oh my stars!! *swoon* Rob, I think that's the most hummingbirds I've ever seen at once! Thank you so much for posting that! (And if you don't mind I'm going to post it on my Facebook. Aaron would love to see it!)

Sure! (I didn't realize you'd seen it when I PM'd you just now.) I've never seen that many at once either. The most I ever saw in my yard at one time was two - and they were dive-bombing each other.

Aaron and I were just talking about that on the phone! At the campground, the most we've seen is three - and they were taking turns body-slamming and dive-bombing each other. I wasn't sure if hummers were actually capable of eating side-by-side.

If there's one thing I've learned about the wondrous wild creatures of this world, it's that they despise each other.

OH MY!!! The whole choir is there to hum out the songs!!! One time while visiting my Aunt here in Missouri, we were out on the back deck (she had several feeders and shrubs to attract butterflies and hummingbirds), as we talked, we had hummers zooming in and out and around us.....it was SO neat....they weren't afraid of us being there at all.....not as many as this, but I would say close to 20 or so....

Wow! That is amazing!
I think the most hummers I've had in my garden is five! I'd love to have this many hummers!
