| This morning Africam posted a warning not to post when they saw a rhino because it looks like there was a poaching incident Sad to say... but those evil poachers are also on Facebook and I can imagine them checking the page looking for posts of rhino or elephant sightings. When will people learn??? China & Vietnam are to blame for their increase demand for rhino horns or elephants tusks... and for what? Just so that they can have statues or things made out of ivory. It is sickening! | |

| You know I was sad to learn that years ago, piano keys were made from ivory. It's going to almost be a year since I became a foster parent to an orphaned elephant and have learned so much about them. Now if I see an antique piano with ivory keys... it doesn't look beautiful to me anymore. All I can see are the elephants who were killed so that those keys could get made... I wish I could say that was history now but just last March of this year, the CEO of an Atlanta piano company has been fined $35,000 after pleading guilty to importing piano keys made from real ivory. I think that is too little... apart from the fine, I would also like to forcefully extract their teeth... see how they like it! | |
