an indian boy comes to town seeking help for his sick father. The towns ppl don't really like them being theire. Charles steps in and helps.

This not really one of my favorite esp to watch. I think it's wrong the why the towns ppl judged the indians when they only needed help.Glad they were able to get the help they needed and leave with nothing bad happening.

Michael Landon had a soft spot for people that racism or antisemitism touched. In this show they risked a lot to help the Indian and family but although it was good writing at the time, I don't think the fact Charles gave up his buggy and horses too I think, was mentioned again. Next show they were starting a shipping company with Jonathan and the nice horses were back. But as fans, we are used to things like that. : )

There are two sides to every story and the writers tried to show that with battles, etc. I think it could get a bit corny at times, but other times it was very serious.

Yes, he did try to show all sides to a story and how the others feel.
You had shows about blacks and how "free" really wasn't free, shows about Jewish people, "did they have horns?"Indians, good and bad, very heavy people more than once, short people, people who stuttered, people that had a limp, ;people with glasses, people who are blind, deaf, slow, mute. There was always a lesson and I hope that someone watching, just maybe thought twice about saying something mean about someone they met like that.

Not a favorite of mine. I feel the towns people were wrong to hate the Indians. It was nice of Charles to help them and offered the sod house as a place for the chief to recover from his stroke.
