A fighter comes to town for a big boxing match.

I don't really like this esp either. But it ends in a happy ending.

Next time you watch the fighter, pay particular attention to the opening scene. Joe Kagan's son was actually Moses Gunn's son in real life. He was billed as Justin Moses instead of his real name Justin Gunn..

I really don't have any memory of having ever seen this episode! Just finished watching it (although recorded from COZI TV, so probably missing some parts). I have to say that I have mixed feelings about it.

First of all, I'm thinking "what is Hester Sue doing married to Joe?" at the beginning! Strange that they brought the same actress (at least I think that was Ketty Lester??) back later on who was also kind of Joe's love interest.

I wish that Joe and Tim had been reconciled as father/son at the end. Did Moody steal the money Joe gave him to send to Tim and Tim's mother? That's the way I understood it. I wish that Joe could have forced Moody to confess that to Tim, to prove that Joe did try to take care of them. And I wish that Tim and Joe could have not only reconciled, but perhaps Tim could have moved to Walnut Grove and farmed with Joe.

I did kind of enjoy Nels getting stuck fighting Joe. But I thought it was rather contrived that Jonathan Garvey hurt his hand and Charles then got to fight and defeat Joe. However, I did like the way that Charles helped Joe on the road to recovery and thought it was very sweet of the Ingalls family to care for him so much.

I watched this episode because I liked Joe Kagan's character in later episodes and I wanted to see his arrival to Walnut Grove, but I did not particularly enjoy this one. It was much darker than I expected and I didn't enjoy it. Although I did enjoy the moment when Charles couldn't find Joe and was shouting his name, and it turned out Joe was just in the outhouse!
