He was scary at times, I felt sorry for his grandparents. Charles has the "touch" with these kids, he could have been a psychologist part time in Walnut Grove. Smile

I know Charles tried to have the young man see he loved his Dad, but that isn't always the case. If his Dad was always like that, he might never have bonded with him at all.
Michael had a soft spot for abused children, touching on it many times, it although it was a bit unrealistic to see the fast turn-a-round, holding people responsible for their actions and expecting more is a good start and moral lesson.

I felt sorry for Tod's grandparents. They were so excited to have him come and stay only to be bullied by him. His father shouldn't have slapped him and shook him when he was a little boy.

My family always says Pa never worked because he had to work out everyone else's problems :) Charles really was like a psychologist!

Albert was a lucky boy when he ran into Charles..........To have a Father like him would be something else!

Great episode! Tod sure had an awful father in the beginning... Which is why he is so bad when his mom sends him to live with his grandparents. I was a bit concerned for them as Tod was violent. But Charles steps into the picture after Tod steals his watch and trades it for money so he can gamble. Charles gets the watch back, but not without having to pay $10 out of his pocket to cover the money that Tod lost gambling. Charles tells him he can either work for him to pay back his debt, or he can go to jail.... Tod refuses to work for him and spends a night in jail. But when Charles comes back to see if he wants to stay in jail, or if he changed his mind and wanted to work for him, Tod decides to work for Charles. At the end of his time of working, Charles gives him a shirt as a bonus for hard work.... but the shirt reminded him of his dad and he destroyed it. I thought it was a bit strange that the shirt would bring back that vivid of a memory of his dad, I mean he must have seen a lot of shirts over the years!

Then after he disappears, Charles goes after him and finds him. He talks to him about how we all need others in life and that he shouldn't just run off and be on his own.... I love the ending when Charles convinces him to come to church and then he shows up and stands next to his grandparents! Great ending!

Nice! Thanks for sharing the pictures of the deleted scenes! I can't wait to start getting some of the remastered seasons...
