| When the RR Workers attacked the farm they were wearing masks that look like the kind the KKK wore. I saw a picture of people wearing KKK masks in a history book at school. I found that kinda confusing. The way I understand it the builders were wearing it to just scare the farmers and to hide their identity. The other explanation is that they were part of the KKK and just wore the masks to hide their identity. So my question is did they wear KKK Sack masks to hide their identity or just because since they are part of the KKK its easier to wear a mask they already own then needing to buy/make a new one which if bought could be traced back to them. I think I'm over thinking this but please tell me why and how they got the KKK Sack masks. (Is this post confusing?) Ying and Yang, Good and Evil, Light and Dark.. All are 2 sides to their own coin. Niether can live with each other, but none can also live without the other. | |

| That is interesting, Spanky. I consider "The Empire Builders" to be among the better episodes from Season 9. Although not the best of the whole season. "Home Again' was better. | |

They bought the masks at the same place Charles bought the sheet to scare Joe Kagan!! And yes, a question that can't be answered is confusing......Who knows? Nels may have had them at the mercantile left over from Halloween. They could have bought them on a clearance sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| I forgot about this episode. I notices, the children weren't in this episode. All you see them going to school, when Mes. Olsen was fixing Willie's hair. They didn't show Nels either. It's like, where the children go?
Glad, they stood up for they're land.
Where did Laura got that hand gun?

| I just watched this one. Didn't really remember it, although I knew somehow that John was going to get beat up, so perhaps I had seen it a long time ago, maybe during the original run. Nels was in the episode. He was in the mercantile at least in one scene, but it was kind of weird that he was not in the ending scene (or I didn't see him).
I thought it was a pretty good episode, except I feel like it conflicts with THE LAST FAREWELL or happens too close to that movie, which seems to have a pretty similar plot. Also, they kept talking about how the people of Tracy wanted the railroad, but so did the people of Walnut Grove originally. I'm not completely sure if they were going to be able to build the railroad near or through Tracy without having to take over people's farms, but I would think the people of Tracy would not want to just sign over their farms to the railroad. Hopefully that was not going to be necessary.
Another way I thought the episode conflicts with THE LAST FAREWELL is when John is talking to Sarah about his promise that they will never move again. I guess he was able to keep that promise for just a little bit longer....

| Oh, one more comment.....I wonder where all the kids were when the women went out to join the men and fight to save the "Little House Farm." Maybe Miss Plum was going to keep them all in the school and take care of them? | |
