Even though I knew I'd probably be creeped out...I had to watch it. And oh my gosh! -That was my reaction.

Same here - on both counts! I know if I watch it this late at night I'll regret it. Then I'd come here and pan Rob in the morning, and we can't have that.
Rob....do you know if those bats laid eggs in anyone's hair? Was there a sudden increase in the number of residents at the local mental health facility?

Call me looney, but I've always thought bats are pretty cute. I used to watch them around dusk every summer evening when I was little.

I had a nutty science teacher in high school that let one sit on her shoulder . We would pet that silly thing and not once were we told they could harm you. Three years ago we lost a high school boy here when he was bitten by one and got rabies. I just think of him now when I see bats.

Rob....just thought you'd like to know that I dreamed about bats last night in spite of the fact that I didn't watch the video. I can't pan you, though, because you did give fair warning, after all. So you at least tried.

I'm completely stunned that they didn't start rabies treatments immediately after he was bitten. Around here that would be the standard procedure. As a matter of fact, Child Protective Services would step in if it wasn't. How sad.

There is no cure once the signs of rabies appear. BUT, you can vaccinate against it.

Exactly! Once the symptoms start, there's no hope - but if you start the treatments right away when there's the possibility of rabies, and no symptoms have begun, it's completely survivable. I just can't imagine someone being bitten by a bat, and no treatments being given.

As far as I know they did everything possible to save Zach but he didnt tell right away that he had been bitten so that really sealed it.

Eek, rabies are a scary thing. I've never heard of any human cases in my area, thankfully. But I remember on Dr Quinn when Ingrid died after contracting it. If that is anything like what rabies does to a person, it is definately a frightening thing.
