Does anyone have any home treatments/remedies for insomnia? For the past few weeks my sleeping problems have worsened. Now I never fall asleep before 6AM-7AM. On average I get 3-4 hours of sleep except on Saturdays. I am just so uptight and nervous lately that it's keeping me awake. It's also caused me to get a real bad cold. Anyone have anything that they use at home that helps?
Thanks!

Well, after going through cancer twice, I live with insomnia...in fact, I'm the CEO of The Insomnia Club. CEO=Can't Even Operate.......
But, being you are just a teen, I hesitate to give you any suggestions except turning off all electronics an hour before trying to go to sleep.....if you think you need a sleep aide, you might talk to your family doctor.....

I'm thinking about doing things like listen to calming music, reading, even writing to wind me down. This just has to stop. I also think some of it has to do with some serious fears I have of going to sleep.

Maybe you could ask your doctor about trying herbal tea, like Sleepy Time.
I don't know why you fear going to sleep, but I would mention that to my doctor as well.
Spring is finally here, the lovely pink blooms on the "spray" tree outside my window are gone leaving a beautiful willow.

Some nights are hard to fall alseep.
Sometimes reading helps make my eyes sleeply.

Sometimes if I'm having trouble sleeping, I turn on my TV or I pray.

Sorry to hear of you suffering from insomnia. I hope things get better for you. I don't know of anything that would help. Praying for you. If it doesn't go away soon, you may want to see your doctor.

I think I found a solution actually. I make myself some warm peppermint tea and I put honey in it to sweeten it. It makes me drowsy and tired in the evenings. It has helped me calm down too.
