| I'm all for uniforms. My boys have been in both Catholic and Public schools...my younger son is in 6th grade Catholic now. I love uniforms. There's nothing to think about in the morning, no issues about 'who has what', and he never complains that they're uncomfortable. Dockers are not uncomfortable, and he wears soft oxford lightweight shirts. Next year he'll be allowed to wear white polos. I can see where uniforms of the past may have been uncomfortable, but they don't have to be. I don't spend nearly the money on his clothes that I used to in public, when he was always desiring what the other kids had, better shoes, name brands, etc...also, we have an annual 'end of year' sale...gently used shirts: $1.00, gently used pants $2.00. If people don't have these going already, they're not hard to organize. I'm in complete agreement with Rose Red's post! Now, my older son is in public high school, and clothing is just not an issue with him. He could care less about clothes. So it does depend on the kid. I will say though, even the kids that kick and scream and say they won't wear a uniform will eventually get used to it. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

- I'm for the uniforms. I remember a few years back, there was a trend of kids wearing pajamas pants to school, it was the most ridiculous thing I've ever saw, thought it was trashy. I've also seen some girls dress what I thought was too sexy for school. There have to be some guildlines as far as when you're in school which is a place for learning, not a night spot.
I agree, Lily! I especially hate those pants to where they sit on the boy's upper legs. I don't see how they wear them. We do have dress code, but you wouldn't know by the way they dress. At the last band concert, one girl showed up in some sort of street walker outfit, complete with fishnet stockings. Another girl, at award's night at the school, had a dress on that when she sat, you could see her underwear. Totally unacceptable. | Doesn't matter to me. I'm done with school. When i was a kid. We wore regular clothes. (They did had a dress code.) If, the shirt was offensive, you will be told to change shirts or go home. My mom always helped my older sister & I, to clothing. Anytime the new year for school starts. We wore decent clothes. Not like today clothes. I don't know, how those clothes can pass the inspection. My 2 older nieces. They were decent clothes, not revealing. | |

| I'm homeschooled but I'm for a uniform; I guess it would take a bit of the peer pressure away about what you wear to school etc. But also it makes a unified look for the school. | |

| the way some kids dressed in school like high school was just Not the type of right clothing that should be worn in school. The girls had on short skirts.tops that showed too much skin.Ya,the boys had the pants half way down.We had a dress code tho. “Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it... Yet.” ― L.M.
