| I'm certainly not an Ingall's expert, but I found it interesting that they once went to Florida. Came across this plaque on the net. Don't know if its been posted before, but I thought I would share it in case it hasn't. | |

| John Bass is a friend of mine who is very passionate about putting historical markers in every location that has any relation to LIW and other family members. 2 years ago he was trying to raise Money to erect one in Cuba, NY, birthplace of Charles Ingalls. | |

| In fact, there's a booklet about it. I ordered it and found the whole thing very interesting. Its title is: Laura Ingalls Wilder; the Westville Florida Years", by Alene Warnock. And maybe you've already read a short story written by Rose Wilder Lane: "Innocense", who is loosely based in her Florida's years when a little girl. It's one of Rose's best stories. Vanesa. | |

| I know! I found that out when I was explaining to someone on IMDB all the areas they lived and when.
I nearly fell off my chair when I read what Charles was a Justice of the Peace in DeSmet. Why Michael Landon didn't do that story line is beyond me!!

Did you even imagine Michael Landon as Pa, working as a butcher? But I think this kind of storylines would have been great to show. For those who saids that real Ingalls life was boring, I always have these little stories to tell them . Vanesa

| There is an Ingalls Family reunion next weekend in Klorida. The family of Peter Ingalls hosts it in the park where the marker stands. My friend John will be there as well as another friend Sue, so I will get some pics from them and post them here. | |

| I knew that they lived there and I have wondered if there was ever anything that they may have erected there for them (I tend to hunt those places down, if I ever get in the area, to take a picture - I don't know if I will ever go to Florida, though). - LIWnut wrote:

I heard that they were going to erect that marker. Did they ever get that accomplished? I just assumed that they did. Yes, at some point, if I EVER went through New York again, I planned on getting a picture. - Vanesa wrote:

Vanesa. I never heard about that book. Where did you find it?

| Thanks for showing those! Here's the problem now, though. I will want to get pictures of my own of these! Well, if I ever get far enough in Georgia again I will think about it. Who's going to do the cooking?!?! | |

He did seem to lead the worship in Reverend Alden's absence, like in the "Blizzard" episode.

He did seem to lead the worship in Reverend Alden's absence, like in the "Blizzard" episode. Yeah, didn't he preach too sometimes?

| Wikpecia def of Justice of the Peace
A Justice of the Peace (JP) is a puisne judicial officer elected or appointed by means of a commission (Letters Patent) to keep the peace. Depending on the jurisdiction, they might dispense summary justice or merely deal with local administrative applications in common law jurisdictions. Justices of the Peace are appointed or elected from the citizens of the jurisdiction in which they serve, and are (or were) usually not required to have a formal legal education in order to qualify for the office. Some jurisdictions have varying forms of training for JPs (for example Arizona; Victoria, Canada; and the United Kingdom).
They may perform legal marriages but they are more like law keepers than preachers.
