| Does anyone remember a show where Jonathan and Mark see Michael Landon's Star on Hollywood Blvd and he asks who he is? Mark says something about him being in Bonanza and Little House and Jonathan says he never heard of him.
I'd like to watch that episode again..been watching the ones with "Little House" or Bonanza co-stars when I can. I liked Highway but can't watch it in the same way repeatedly like LHOP.

| Here is the episode you are talking about. 103.) The Squeaky Wheel June 16, 1989 Written by Paul W. Cooper Directed by Michael Landon
After being caught in a false fire alarm, a double amputee who served in Vietnam decides to join a crusade to draw public attention to the disadvantages that the handicapped population still face in life. In the opening act, Jonathan and Mark are strolling down the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the two just happen to come across Michael Landon's star and have an amusing conversation:
Mark: "Oh, look, here's another one of my favorites, Michael Landon."
Jonathan: "Never heard of him."
Mark: "Are you kidding? Bonanza and Little House on the Prairie."
Jonathan: "Sorry, doesn't ring a bell."
Mark: "I keep forgetting you've been dead for 40 years."
Jonathan: "Look, don't you have every picture yet?"
Mark: "Not until I find Bette Davis. I promised my sister next time I was in Hollywood, I would get her a picture of Bette Davis' star. You know, we can find it a lot faster if you would use the stuff. Tell me where it is?"
Jonathan: "A block-and-a-half from here."
Mark: "Block-and-a-half? Why didn't you tell me that an hour ago?"
Jonathan: "Cause we got an appointment to meet someone here."
Mark: "Oh?, oh."
Location Scenes Filmed at Hollywood and Los Angeles, California.
"Albert, do you REALLY think you are old enough to know what love is?" "I must be Pa. I love you, I have for a long time."

| That is so funny...he knew how to laugh at himself. I don't think I have that channel, have comcast, will check it again. We don't have premium channels. I know they just added a "Me" channel with a lot of old shows, some good, some not. One day I'll see "That Girl" or Rockford and another "Lost in Space" or Batman. I know if Michael lived, he would have had some of his old co-stars in his new show also..he liked people he knew and they stayed like a family. I laughed when I read an old interview with Lorne Greene where he says Mike wanted me in Little House but said it would be too hard..because it was "Pioneer" also, he felt people would keep wondering why he didn't recognize his "Pa". | |

| They had a lot of good shows..some were a bit sugary as the say, and since it wasn't in the 1800's, some found it a bit much, but overall, he had some great themes, the ratings were good the first few years and he had some great guest stars, quite a few from Little House. | |

| Michael had a great sense of humor. It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart | |

| While "Highway to Heaven" was in final production in December 1988, Michael had a close encounter with death. A man named Nathan Trupp, a mental patient wanted in connection with several murders in New Mexico, shot and killed two security guards at Universal Studios, before being felled by a sea of police bullets. He had claimed to be on a "mission from God" and, as he toured the sprawling 420-acre studio lot on his general admission ticket, had asked several employees where he could find Michael Landon.
Unable to locate Michael, Trupp walked off the tour tram and went to the guardhouse at the entrance to the compound, where he demanded to use a studio phone to speak to Landon. When the guards refused, the forty-two-year-old man walked away, only to return a moment later. He pulled a gun and shot both men through the head, killing one of them instantly. The other died a short while later at the hospital.
While this real-life drama was being played out at Universal Studios in Hollywood, Michael was twenty miles away in Culver City, directing one of the last "Highway to Heaven" episodes on the backlot at MGM Studios. None of Michael's series and projects before "Highway" were filmed at MGM, so it will remain a mystery why the gun-toting Trupp was so convinced Michael was on the Universal lot.

| WOW...never heard about that! That dude had toast for brains. How sad for the guards and their families. I guess they arrested Trupp? This guy was apparently stalking Michael because he thought he was a Nazi. He killed two people in new Mexico prior to this incident. He was sentenced to Life in a state mental institution in exchange for his guilty plea. A reak whacko! I hope he is still there, but in LALA land you never know. | |

| That's for sure, you never know. He was lucky to have only one bad instance, some stars get repeated attempts to see them at work or home. It can be annoying and sometimes very scary. | |

| Eeewww! I've never heard a word about Michael being so close to death. There are some people (almost all of them are mental cases) that seeking fame are able to do whatever they can just to reach it... Vanesa. | |

| I always liked Highway to Heaven. I wish that they would show it more often. One of my favorite episodes that I remember best was A Song for Jason which Charlette Stewart was in. | |

Yes...But it was a sad episode...I remember that a boy who suffered from cancer was the star in it..I can't bear to see sick children... Vanesa.

| it was indeed very sad, and it is very hard to see sick childern, I had a cousin that had childhood cancer when he was about Jason's age. Jason reminded me a little of him. I thought that boy played a great role and I bet he grew up to make a fine actor | |

| Mill Creek Entertainment will be releasing uncut episodes of the complete 1st season of Highway To Heaven. The release date is May 14, 2013. Tvshowsondvd.com will sell it for $14.98. The episodes will contain uncut episodes as they were shown on NBC. I plan on getting it. Amazon.com will have them at a cheaper price. | |
