Bailey

Bailey is a wonderful 13 year old girl that is needing lots of prayers tomorrow. (July 31st)

She was born with a hole in her heart and is having surgery tomorrow to repair it. Please keep her, her family and the doctors in prayer. I will keep you updated as I hear how she is doing. Thanks so much.

Thank you... Bailey is in surgery now. So far so good. I should have another update soon from her Mom.

NOON....Bailey is out of surgery, everything went well. Doctors will talk with her parents in about an hour. Keep your prayers coming. Pray for no infection and quick healing.

Bailey is doing very well. Her parents got to see her, so hopefully everything is right on track. Hope to have a photo of her soon. Thank you all for the prayers. I look at that drawing now and can't help but feel it could have been better. But thanks so much for complimenting me.

Bailey is sitting up in a chair and doing very well today. They will be moving her to a private room later this afternoon. Thanks for the prayers.

Bailey is still doing great! She walked a whole lap around the 15th floor of Texas Childrens yesterday, and gets to visit the Teen room today. Her poor Mom is so thankful but tired. They check Bailey every hour so not much sleep going on. Keep those prayers coming...Thanks!!

glad shes doing good still

Bailey is such a trooper! I went to visit her today in the hospital and she is just as pretty as ever. She was walking laps in the halls when I arrived. She got her chest tube out this morning and might get to go home as soon as tomorrow!!
She has been watching the Olympics and sneaking chocolate all her guests have been bringing. Believe it or not, but she has just ONE stitch that will need removed next week. The main incision on her chest has internal stitches and then she was glued back in closing. They sure have come a long way since Nathan's visits to the ER!!

She and her family thank you all very much for the kindness of your prayers.

Sorry, I'm late on this. I'm glad, Bailey doing fine. She'll be in my prayers for fast recovery.

I have hole in heart called ASD. (Atrial Septal Defect) The hole is the size of my piny nail. I do go to my heart specialists every year. every two years get echocardiogram. Since the hole is small. My doctor doesn't want do heart surgery on me.

When did they find out, Bailey had hole in her heart?

For me, we didn't find out until I was 18.

My older sister told me, that everyone is born with hole in their heart. She heard this from someone else. After a baby is 6 months old. The hole should start closing. But, with some cases. The hole doesn't close at all. Some people need heart surgery for them to close or be watch. if the hole is small.

I tried find article about it. I didn't find any.

Bailey's parents found out when she was two weeks. Her hole was small, but as her mother explained it small is not always good. Simply because, the blood that comes from the hole comes through with alot of pressure behind it. Therefore, the tissue around the hole is pounded and wears easily. That is why they chose to do surgery.
You might want to get another opinion just to be safe.

My oldest son, BJ had a small hole in his heart as well. They found it at 6 months, and it was by the new pediatrician who said the first pediatrician should've found it. They waited to see what his would do and gave warning that he would need antibiotics before having any dental work done.....His hole disappeared and he is fine now, altho I think he still takes the antibiotics before dental work just to be on the safe side.....glad Bailey is doing well....
