...when I ordered a wild turkey...
This guy was looking me in the face this morning. There's a flock of about 27 that comes around sometimes.

Did you shoot that sucker for Thanksgiving?
I must say, it is better than having this come wandering up to your porch. Last Halloween, we made the mistake of having a real pumpkin out there. They snatched it the first night! Candle and all! Not a trace left....They LOVE pumpkins!

They probably get up to around 150 Lbs. Can't see two feet in front of them, but boy can they smell.............Can be dangerous if cornered. They come down from hills at night looking for food. Rarely see them during the day. Love to eat pricly pear cactus (favorite food).

They hunt the only with bow and arrows once a year. You really have to know what you are doing when you cook one of those babies! They are musky, and they do something to get that out of them when they eat them. They are called Javolinas.........

As I mentioned to you, I would love to see Opie's reaction to seeing a bird of that size up close! You have the coolest yard.

I would NOT want Opie to meet one of those. Yikes.
Its fierce snarl reminds me of a "Found" sign I saw online...It's off topic, but I don't think Rob will mind if I share it. (If he does mind, he can always post a picture of one of those lovely snarlers at me. )

I was thinking the same thing. The new deck color looks nice too, Rob! I SO wish I would have had time to get mine done before the snow flies! Not going to happen.

We had about 22 turkeys that would come through our yard about this time last year. I haven't any this year.

When I was little my grandparents had a farm, they had turkeys & my cousin Laura was so scared of them. I think it was that thump noise the males make. She would run and scream
