I don't know how many of you remember Robby Benson who made Ice Castles, The Chosen and many other good movies, but here is an interview he did in August of this year. I haven't seen him in a long time. Looks pretty darn good after all the years have gone by. 56 Years old and Four Heart Surgeries Later...........
"Albert, do you REALLY think you are old enough to know what love is?" "I must be Pa. I love you, I have for a long time."

He looks great. Loved Ice Castles!

Oh WOW, thanks for posting this Dave! Robby!
Holy cow, this man is incredible. The way he honors and cherishes his wife is simply remarkable. 30 years!! In Hollywood?! And he is hands down the finest '55' I have EVER seen, I must say.
I am posting the second part of this interview, since I was so intrigued. I am so glad I checked it out. Lisa, I almost died at 7:34!! You will see why!!
Dave, thanks again.... I am swooning over here. (By the way, Robby was a teen heartthrob of mine and his picture graced my bedroom wall growing up, as if you couldn't tell. I always loved his eyes and his soft spoken voice. which he still has).

I always liked Robby. He has the same congenital heart defect that my wife has. But he really looks great. I wish he would just lose one hair on his head and make me feel better! LOL. Incredible!

I've always loved him. The long hair looks a bit goofy, but he's still got those great eyes and voice.

He would have been good on Little House. Too bad he never guest starred...... I've got it, Albert's older brother!

Now THAT would've been interesting! Sounds like a good idea for a fan fiction...I have so many ideas in my head, but I haven't started any yet!

I don't like long hair on most guys, but for some reason I thought it worked on him. I wouldn't care for it on my hubby, for sure. I think you have to have the right facial structure to pull it off....like Sully.
About the voice, I've seen Ice Castles countless times, and was shocked that his voice simply has not changed!
Dave, I'm sorry to hear that your wife has that heart condition too. It truly sounds like a miracle that Robby is around to even talk about it.

Thank yiou for your thoughts Amy. Sandy had her aortic valve replaced with a mechanical valve in the mid nineties. They do miraclous things now. I can put my ear on her chest and hear it clicking as the blood passes through it. When they replaced it, she had a choice of mechanical or a pig valve. The down side of pig valves is that they don't last and have to replaced. A mechanical valve is permanent. The down side of the mechanical is that you are on blood thinners, (Coumadin) for the rest of your life. I haven't read the particulars of Robby's surgeries, but I suspect he had pig valves put in to avoid the blood thinners. These valve conditions are genetic most of the time.
Her mitro valve is also bad, and it cannot be fixed but it is staying stable. She is a walking miracle and all you can do is have faith and appreciate every day of life.

Dave, that is so awesome. I am amazed at what they can do too. Thanks for explaining that because really I had no idea. I know my hubby's dad had a quadruple bypass surgery about 6 or 7 years ago and we're amazed he's still here. Who would have ever imagined they could save people with such measures, way back when?!
I'm sure Sandy & Robby could trade a story or two!
