Somewhere out there, there's another stray cat. I had seen Marty and the other cat together, but while Marty eventually got friendly with me, the other one never did. He's still out there; I leave food on the deck, but if he even sees me looking out the window, he runs away.

I wonder if Marty ever thinks about that other cat when he's enjoying his dinner of Friskies and settling down on my lap for a nap. "All this could have been yours." Say hi to Marty! - Page 3 811339

Sometimes you just gotta take a chance. Marty knew his chance was good since you didn't have a very long tail or bark.
The other must have just been a buddy, because if it had been a gal he probably wouldn't have left her.

Well, we joined you other cat owners yesterday. The kids have been wanting a cat, and now that Kara is home for spring break they started asking again. Kara looked on the internet for local cats and found a lady who said she could no longer afford to feed it. Gary agreed to go look at it yesterday, and now we have it exploring our house. So far if seems to be a very nice cat.
