| So, my best friend just sent me this link, to inform me that Melissa Gilbert is considering moving to her area, which is 40 minutes from MY town!! They are already renting there! I am in complete and total shock! We have this awesome antique store that we visit there---we're talking about how Melissa will LOVE that, lol! I may have to spend every weekend there now, trying to hunt down Laura Ingalls! LOL!! I guess Timothy's family lives in East Lansing, so I may see them here too!! http://www.livingstondaily.com/article/20130801/NEWS01/308010001/melissa-gilbert-moving-howell-michiganNot every day you hear about famous actors moving to Michigan! (Oh, and I guess this really does sound set in stone---she wrote on her twitter account that they're "packing all their stuff to move to Michigan", so that pretty much cinches it! ) “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| That's neat. Sounds by her blog that she's looking forward to some peace and quiet. Maybe she'll take up painting or something. I hope it works out for her. | |

| Lisa! Yes, we definitely have some walking/stalking to do! My friend is going to TRY To figure out what subdivision she's in. She still is having a hard time fathoming that a famous person is living RIGHT in her town! And I still can't wrap my head around the fact that she's THIS close to mine! Someone wrote on Melissa's fb page, "I can't imagine living in the Midwest and suddenly a famous person moves in right next door!" And, that's exactly what happened. You can see on one of the pictures that Melissa posted of her screened in porch, that it's a typical suburban sub where all the neighbors are right on top of each other! I am shocked that she would want to live this way! There is LOTS of land in this area and plenty of private homes, so she chose this lifestyle. Amazing! Judging from the living room picture, it looks like a historic home, but I think the original owner just tried to make it look like an old home. I could be wrong, but you can see from the screened in porch, that it is modern vinyl siding in the back of the house and the other houses too. Someone else wrote, "Welcome to the neighborhood! I live across the street! I'm at Lake Michigan for a few days but am looking forward to meeting you when I get back!" I. Am. Seriously. Jealous!!!!! And Dave, I hope she is happy too. I can see why she is looking to settle down at this point in her life, in her new marriage. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| Congrats, Amy. That is way cool!! Since Michigan is fairly close to WI and MN, I wonder if she'll attend some of the 'Laura Ingalls Wilder Days' celebrations held there. It would be awesome if she did!! | |

| Oh my gosh! I can't believe she posted a picture of her house! I guess she has no qualms about stalkers! (such as myself. ). LOL! And Jacob, it does look pretty small! That surprises me too! But gosh, it sure is CUTE! Love it!! And I'm so happy for her. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| Ok, my friend knows where this is. Can't wait to drive by it! It's closer to downtown, right on a main road. I think it's neat that Melissa wanted to live that way, near all the action, and apparently she's not worried at all about the attention she's now going to receive now that people know where she lives! Maybe she is one of those people that likes being a big fish in a small pond. And my friend says this is a side view of the house, not the front. It's a Victorian that is probably around 3000 sqare feet. I haven't told the hubby yet, but I have my new goal for where we need to live! Right downtown, 40 miles away! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| Yep, she has made it pretty clear this is where she'll be full-time. When I first heard about this, Rhonda, I thought the same thing you did. Like, for example Jeff Daniels lives very close to where she moved, but it's just a part time place. He didn't pack everything up to move here. It's just his Midwest 'get away from everything' home. Melissa, on the other hand, seems to be putting down roots here. I think if she's referring to this place as her 'new hometown', it's where she wants to call 'home' and spend most of her time. She has written about how she literally packed up ALL of her stuff to move here. They're moving van was enormous!I think she's just ready to be out of the Hollywood scene. She probably knows she will only have the occasional TV movie here and there from here on out, and there's no real 'reason' to live out there---nothing she can't fly out for a TV movie and find someplace to stay while she's filming something. Or yeah, she may still have some kind of property out there---she did sell the home she lived in though. There have to be so many memories and 'ghosts' out there for her too, of her life with Bruce. A very different life from the one she's leading now, and I think she's just ready to start a new chapter in a VERY different setting from what she's used to. She sure is going to have a rude awakening though, come December! Or even November! Marilyn, I saw that....it's called the Blue Fin (and it's RIGHT on the corner near where my friend lives. Can you imagine?! LOL!). Yes, I saw that she described it rather... emphatically, shall we say? That's Melissa! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

Yeah, so far it hasn't been that big of a deal with the media. One day the local Howell news said there'd be a story and interview, but there was just a story, nothing we hadn't seen. And I guess as far as posting pics and telling where she's eaten at and such, I just think that it's her way of discovering her new town and wanting to 'share' her experiences and fit in. If she actually wants that 'big fish in a small town' notoriety, then it makes sense that she's posting these things. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

Ooh, that's right! We'll be able to do that now!!! Oh my, we could get into soooooo much trouble! She did post a picture of the brownstone they were living in, in Chicago. Not sure if she sold that or not. But one person wrote on the comments of her instagram that she'd be living there and Michigan. Who knows though---it's hard to know with fans who really knows what!
