I stumbled across something interesting this morning. Barry Manilow had a huge hit with "Mandy" in 1974, but Scott English, the guy who wrote it, recorded the original in 1971. Except it was "Brandy"! When Barry recorded it, he changed it to Mandy to avoid confusion with the hit song "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)" by the band called Looking Glass.

I never knew that. Manilow has a much better voice.

Barry was here in Houston the night of Nathan's wedding. I tease Nathan that I missed Barry because I love him more. ( I secretly do like Barry very much.)

Wow that sounded strange! I always thought it was Barry's song too. Never knew it was called "Brandy" before! Interesting!
