Back in the '70s, when the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry was at its fiercest, the legendary OSU coach Woody Hayes drove up to Michigan with an assistant to scout a high school player. That night they were on their way home, and the assistant began pulling into a gas station.
"Are we in Ohio yet?" asked the coach.
"No."
"Keep driving!"
"But we're almost out of gas!"
