I first heard about this young man about a week ago when he was mentioned on a hockey site that I visited... I'm wondering if any of the other prairie members on here have heard about him because he was from Michigan...
17-year-old Ryan Fischer passed away in his sleep the morning that his hockey team was scheduled to play in a tournament game. Although heartbroken after the loss of their friend, his team went on to play in the game that night because they knew it was what he would have wanted.
Link to video about Ryan Fischer^I posted a link to a video that I saw about Ryan, because I wasn't sure how to post the actual video. There is a scene in it from after his hockey team lost the game the day of his passing... the team gathered on the ice after the game to say a prayer for Ryan, and the team they had just played surrounded them to show their support and pray for Ryan with them. It is heartbreaking that this young man's life was taken away when he was so young, but it was inspiring that the team was able to play so soon after losing their friend... I read another article about this young man after watching this video that said now his friends and family are working to keep his legacy alive.
