♪♫♪Happy Birthday Mary Poppins!♪♫♪

The beloved movie, Mary Poppins is 50 years old today!  How supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is that???  

OK. I'll admit it. I always wanted Mary and Bert to end up together.

Still the best non-animated movie of Disney's. Probably my second favorite movie to come out of the 1960's ("West Side Story" is #1).

Yep, me too.  I thought they were so cute.  But if you haven't seen THIS, you will see them in a whole new light!  I really want to see the movie again, after reading this theory on the movie....I will be viewing it with brand new eyes, that's for sure! So cool!!

Shameful I tell ya....just shameful.

I was 6 when this movie came out.....I was #4 of 6 kids....ages 15, 13, 8, 6, 4, and 2.....No way on earth was mom going to drag us to the movies to watch it; besides, who could afford it? After I got grown, I just never thought to get it to watch....I have seen bits and pieces of it, but never from beginning to end....

Rhonda, Rhonda, Rhonda....no excuses young lady!! Your homework for this week (month....umm, year) is to WATCH Mary Poppins and I want a full report!

You know what's weird? I saw this movie IN the theater with a friend of mine when we were about 10 or 11 I would say. So they re-released it in the theaters for awhile! Her grandparents took us and I'd never seen it before then, and I just remember sitting there in absolute awe. I think this is when my love affair started with everything British. I wanted to LIVE on Cherry Tree Lane!!

Disney really did a good job of making the movie. He took a lot from the book but made it much more enjoyable. I decided to read the book after watching Saving Mr. Banks. I didn't like the book very well, so I find it surprising that it was a popular book series.
