Just thought I'd share my good news with you all! I've joined the ranks of the paid workers after a 15 year break to raise my family!

I'm working for ASDA, which is the British division of Wal Mart, doing admin work, orders, etc. The biggest change to my life is that I'm working through-nights as it means I don't have to worry about trying to organise chid minders. I'm at home if the kids need me even if I'm in bed which is great during these months when they're off school on summer vacation.

My hours of work are 8.00pm - 6.30am and because it's busy, the night flies in. There are only two females on the night crew but it's great fun and with the exception of one guy who isn't pleasant to anyone, they're all a lovely group of people. There always has to bee one!!!

I thought working through-nights would have been really rough but I've got used to it so quickly and as long as I get a decent sleep, so far, touch wood, everything at home seems to be running smoothly!

That's wonderful, Maureen! I'm glad that you're adjusting so quickly to the work hours, too. That's usually such a difficult shift to adjust to!
