Prayers for baby Kara, please...

I'm glad Kara is doing well---thanks for the update!!

What a happy face. Kara is a year old already! And, as planned, she has another heart surgery coming up. It's scheduled for tomorrow. If you'd say a prayer for baby Kara and her family, I'd really appreciate it. And I know her family would, too. She's already been through a lot - but this little girl is a fighter. And she's had a LOT of prayers behind her.

What a doll! I will definitely be praying for Kara and her family....please keep us posted on how the surgery goes tomorrow.

Brian said that there were a couple of emergency cases that came in, so Kara's surgery was bumped a couple of times, and she just went in. Today's procedure is a heart catheterization to prepare her for her upcoming open-heart surgery. It should take a couple of hours, and believe it or not, her heart cath is an out-patient procedure! It seems like they'd at least keep her overnight. Yikes! Anyway, she's in surgery now, and I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything more. Thanks again for your prayers!

Ok, prayers going up for little Kara! Wow....I can't believe that's out-patient either! Seems they race people in and out like crazy these days. You'd think with such a young child, they'd want to keep her at least for observation.

Chiming in late but all I can say is "Oh Yeah"...

Brian posted a short while ago, and there was an unexpected turn of events today. Baby Kara was taken in to have a routine heart cath done, and when they were through, they couldn't get the bleeding to stop in her neck and leg. I don't know if this is part of what caused the following, but here's Brian's note:

Urgent Prayer Request: My heart is breaking as I write this. Kara has
crashed twice. What was thought to be routine is at a very life
threatening stage. Kara is fighting for her life right now. They may put
her on the heart and lungs machine soon.

He updated later that surgeons have been called to place her on the heart and lungs machine. Please pray for Kara.

Prayers going out. Poor baby.

How terribly sad! I am praying for Kara and her family.

Oh thank God. That was a close call. This poor little kid...she's been through too much in her short life. I'll be praying for her.
