| He just started preschool at the end of August, before that he stayed home with me. So this is his first time having pink eye, his second ear infection. | |

| Oh my goodness! Poor little thing! Hopefully the meds kick in quickly---it's almost impossible NOT to get pink in both eyes, because kids touch their eyes so much and spread infection from one to the other. Hope he feels better soon! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| Thanks I gave him the drops tonight & yikes that was a FIGHT. When it was over I'm pretty sure he just cried them all out anyway. | |

| Oh, I KNOW. It's really tough to do!! If you think it's tough with a preschooler, try a two year old! How the heck are you supposed to get the little ones to keep their eyes open enough?! LOL! | |

| I will no doubt get pink eye from just reading this! When I was 10 I got it so bad in both eyes that drops did not help, so the doctor gave me an ointment to put in them. I had to let it melt in my eyes!! That little line of ointment felt like a log!! Ever since then I have gotten it SO easy. I kept kids for 18 yrs and anytime one of my daycare kids got it ...yep...I got it bad. I think I've had it at least 12 times. When the sun is really bright my eyes hurt for awhile after I go inside. I think having it so much has weakened them a little. I have me a pair of RAY CHARLES sunglasses.
Hope he gets well soon. Its hard to care for such a young child with that. WASH YOUR HANDS.... Good luck! It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart

| I'm sorry to hear this. One thing you might try is cooled tea bags. They are comforting to the eyes. Make a cup of tea, but don't squeeze the bag. Pull the bag out and put it in a saucer to cool. Then you can lay the tea bag on his eye for 5 minutes--if he'll let you. With pink eye, I would use a separate tea bag for each eye.
Praying he will soon be well.

I had to do the same thing with Nick, Rhonda. He was a little terror when it came to those drops, and I could hardly blame him! Great idea, Cheryl! I remember Lisa recommended this for a friend of mine who was going through some kind of eye infection too.

Thanks for all the kind words, prayers & Gin thanks for the laugh You would never know he is sick, I took him to the doctor yesterday & the nurse says you are the happiest patient I have had all day & then when we drove thru the pharmacy he was grinning in the back seat just eating his fries & the girl at the pharmacy even said you wouldn't even know he was sick, he is happy as a calm back there.

| He just started pre school...
Just a question... how clean is this place where he goes to pre school?
I have taught pre school before an a myriad of places and I once refused to work in a place because it looked dirty and run down (it looked like it was infested, not that it was.)
Also, make sure the other kids in the pre school who are sick are removed from the room/stay at home.

I'm often surprised by how many people send their kids to school when they are obviously sick.

| Well bad news. Dean's eyes were not getting better, they were in fact looking worse. Took him to the doctor today & they think he is allergic to the eye-drops. So for the last 3 days I haven't been helping him I have been hurting him He goes to Pre-school at the local public school, it's not a private daycare one. I have always though the room looked very clean. When he was two my previous night job offered a nice daytime position & I did go around and look at daycare centers, one of them I walked in & turned around and walked right back out. | |

The sick thing doesn't surprise me, I can think back to when I was working & how many people came to work while being so so sick. What does surprise me is this little girl in the class who has long hair, that looks like her Mom hasn't washed it in weeks. It's always in the same ponytail that the little girl has slept in over & over. The Mom has clean hair I just wanna say, I'll take her to the bathroom & wash her hair for ya lady.

Not your fault at all. You were doing what you thought was best. Are they pursuing another line of treatment?
