We pianists prefer to call that an unexpected artistic embellishment, Rob.
Here are a few refreshments....It's kind of early, so maybe we'll just put them in the fridge for a little later.

I hope she comes to the party too!!
Oooh, it's already looking very festive around here! Happy St. Paddy's Day everyone!
I am spending my day making this in my dutch oven for dinner:
Corned Beef and Cabbage:
And watching my favorite "Irish" movie....Far and Away. This is one of those that didn't get good ratings, and I've never understood why. I absolutely LOVE this movie!

The corned beef and cabbage looks delicious, Amy!
Another really good Irish movie is The Quiet Man, starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. It was filmed in Ireland, and the scenery is beautiful.

Oh my gosh, that actually looks pretty funny, Rob! (John Wayne & Maureen O'Hara's characters are hilarious!).
I always get a bee in my bonnet to watch some Little House episodes on this day too. The one where Nels is smitten with Molly, the Irish Innkeeper, and the one with Amy Hearn. It's just too early for me to come up with the titles.

That was a clever presentation! Thanks, Debbie. I was surprised the first time I learned that St. Patrick had been kidnapped and brought to Ireland as a slave. He later escaped - but returned to Ireland again as a missionary.
O'Pie spotted something interesting today, and wanted me to share it with the party-goers:

I don't know if that was for the refreshments, or for the comment, but either way it made me laugh.

As you know, the limerick is a form of humorous poetry discovered under a rock in Ireland in 1804. There are thousands of limericks online, and when you filter out the dirty ones, there are still a few dozen.
Said an envious, erudite ermine "There's one thing I cannot determine. When a dame wears my coat she's a person of note, but when I do, I'm only a vermin."

There once was a lady named Bright whose speed was much faster than light. She set out one day in a relative way, and returned on the previous night.

A tutor who tooted a flute tried to teach two young tooters to toot. Said the two to the tutor "Is it harder to toot, or... to tutor two tooters to toot?"

"A painter, who lived in Great Britain, Interrupted two girls with their knittin' He said, with a sigh, "That park bench--well I Just painted it, right where you're sittin.'"

We can't forget the Fife Limerick!
There once was a deputy named Fife Who carried a gun and a knife. The gun was all dusty And the knife was all rusty 'Cause he never caught a crook in his life.
Of course, our Fife catches plenty of "crooks".
