My mom has passed away....

Please pray for our family at this difficult time, especially for my dad.  My mom has been bedridden at home the last two and a half years with Alzheimers and Parkinsons.  She finally passed away yesterday, at the age of 74.  My dad has been her primary caregiver, along with hospice. I am relieved that her suffering and confusion is over with, but of course I miss my mom, who was my very best friend.  Her mother also died from Alzheimers.  Such a terrible and cruel disease.

I just saw this on Facebook. Amy, I am so sorry. Even when it's expected, the loss of a parent is never easy. I will be praying for all of you.

I'm so sorry for your loss, dear Amy. So thankful, though, for the assurance we have that she's in Heaven, free from the cruelty of Alzheimer's disease now. You and your family cared so diligently and lovingly for her. I regret that I was never able to meet her, but knowing you as I do, I know what a remarkable woman she was. You and your family are in my prayers.

Amy, I am so sorry. I didn't see this before I commented on facebook the other day. I know your pain. I absolutely know what you are going through and please trust that I am praying for you and your family.

Thank you everyone. Marilyn, it's ok....I had posted it on Facebook and could tell that you'd only seen the picture of my mom posted and not the posted where I wrote a tribute post about her. If you scroll down on my page, you will see it. Thank you, I know you know this pain well. It's going to be a long journey of healing, but I am so happy and relieved for her. She is in heaven with our loving Father now.

Thank you. It still seems so surreal, to tell you the truth. Even though she was sick for a long time, I still can't believe it. I am so grateful that she is at peace. I do worry about my dad though, and my life has been filled up with caring for her as well throughout each week, so now that things have settled down this week, the void is there.

So sorry I missed this Amy..........hope things are getting better for you.....My Mother had dementia and it is difficult enough to deal with that, take comfort in knowing she is at peace now.......Bless you and your family....

Thank you Dave. I appreciate that. I'm sorry your mom went through this too...such a cruel disease. Both my mom and grandma had it so as you can imagine, it's a fear for the future. Each day is getting a little better emotionally, but I have my moments, for sure.

I am just now viewing this, but I want to say how very sorry I am for your loss. Will continue to pray for you & your family.
