After more time of looking around, I will change my guess of Johnny Cash to Lew Ayres who played Lem McCary in Welcome to Olesonville.....I found that he was a Big Band musician before becoming an actor. His instruments were tenor banjo, long-neck banjo and guitar. But the album cover above says 'Band Singer'..... scratchead

It's Art Lund who played Tom Jorgenson in Money Crop.

Cool trivia about him: Started his career as a singer for Benny Goodman and Harry James. He later became a soloist on the MGM label.
Had a #3 pop hit with "Mam'selle" in 1947.
