Family sometimes are a pain

So, My family members said they wanted to volunteer theire time and help us out buy helping do the renovations for FREE. Of course my dad was going to give a gas money/Tim horonts card for the help. Or take them out some place for dinner. Now Some turn around and say they want to be paid for all the work and time they spent here. When they never was up front about it. How would you feel about this? I thought I vent on here instead of FB were family could see this. lol

Family is tough to deal with sometimes. Is it possible these certain people didn't realize they were volunteering their time? Since your dad was going to donate gas money or a gift card, maybe he should do that in the amounts he can afford. Thanking them for their help and offering them something may make the situation better.

Yes, Sometimes family can be really tough. It's like the intentions were done for the wrong reason......,My dad just wishes they were up front with him from the start. I hope things can get handled too. I don't want any family falling out to happen.
