Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home and Museum
We were honored to welcome Melissa Gilbert from Little House on the Prairie to Rocky Ridge Farm recently. This was her first visit to the farm and it was made complete with a guided tour of the museum and historic homes. While in Mansfield, Melissa and her husband (Timothy Busfield) also visited the Wilder gravesite at the Mansfield Cemetery. Her visit to Mansfield was truly a memorable and enjoyable visit for everyone.

I think this was a very private visit and viewing of the museum and home of Laura and Almanzo...I think it was done this past Sunday...had I known about it, I would've been there, since I am only 30 miles from driveway to driveway! I'm sure all her other fans would've been there as well!

I'm glad that they apparently kept it very private because, to me, it was about Melissa and Timothy honoring the real-life Laura and Almanzo. If they had publicized this as a fan event, I think that it may have attracted fans of Melissa Gilbert and made the focus on her (and on the TV show, which I love, but which of course is fictionalized) rather than the focus being to honor and remember Laura Ingalls Wilder and Almanzo Wilder.
