Someone please help! I'm sure I saw this episode when it first ran and at least once since (but still around forty years ago probably). I remember, and remember CLEARLY, as SURE as I remember anything, that after God failed to take Laura to Heaven and send her baby brother back, that Laura in tears begged, "Change me into a boy, then Pa can be happy." I was especially waiting for this line because when I was a child my mother would torment me by insisting my father really wanted a boy named Jimmy and not me. (Dad never said this as he knew I'd throw a fit.) When I was little I thought that at some point I actually would or could change. I was best friends with a boy whose mother wanted a girl and also wanted to change. As adults we agreed we were happy as we were. I just watched the entire episode and that line AIN'T IN THERE! Anyone who has seen this program or has the DVD set, are the episodes on Amazon Freevee uncut? Could this line have been removed as being insensitive to transgender people (that's the only reason I can think of to justify such a change) or did I really just dream it? It admittedly wouldn't be my first false memory but perhaps my most vivid one. Thanks for any help!
