Actor James Earl Jones has passed away at age 93.
Jones was perhaps best known for his voice roles of Mufasa in The Lion King and Darth Vader in Star Wars. He was nominated for an Academy Award in 1971 for his leading role in The Great White Hope, and received an honorary Oscar in 2012. Throughout his career, Jones appeared in other celebrated films, including Field of Dreams and Coming to America, as well as guest appearances on shows including Frasier and the Big Bang Theory.
Jones was also a graduate of the University of Michigan and a veteran of the United States Army.
