| The Bangles covered the S&G song "A Hazy Shade of Winter." Oops, I guess that's more than a hint, isn't it? :shifty: Here's a new one. How old were Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and Kurt Cobain when they died? | |

| Trick question. Kris Kristofferson actually sang it first (or Roger Miller, depending on who you ask), but Janis Joplin is the one most well-known for having sung it.
Next question is related;
One of the last recordings Janis Joplin completed was an a cappella song about an expensive car. What kind of expensive car was it?
(Hint: It was on her posthumously released album "Pearl", and was a first take, meaning it was released without ever having been recorded before)

| That would be a Mercedes Benz, Larry. And if I remember rightly, the Mercedes company later turned a blind eye to the irony of the song and used it in one of their commercials.
Here's an obscure one...
The John Wayne movie The Searchers inspired Buddy Holly to write one of his hit songs. What's the name of the song, and how does it relate to that movie?

| "That'll Be the Day" was inspired by John Wayne's frequent use of the phrase in this film. What year was Merle Haggard released from prison? |

| That was 1960 (thanks, Wikipedia ). What band turned down $12 million to allow one of their songs to be used in a Microsoft commercial? | |

| The band REM turned down $12 mill for the use of their song "It's the end of the world as we know it" in a commercial for Windows 95.
What song by which band did Microsoft eventually use?

| The band was the Rolling Stones. Now, which Stones song do you think a computer would start singing to you first thing in the morning? | |

| Good guess, but nope. Picture it: your computer wants you to hit the on button, so it begins to sing ----- -- --. That's the right number of blanks, if you wanna play Wheel of Fortune. | |

| Actually there are five blanks in the first word, Rhonda. The words begin with S, M, U. And no, it's not Southern Methodist University. :shifty: | |

| During a performance on The Ed Sullivan Show, the network insisted that the Rolling Stones change a line in one of their songs that was deemed too suggestive. What was the line, and what did they sing in its place? HINT: The line is also the song's title. | |

| Yup, exactly. Here's that Ed Sullivan performance from 1967. Notice how Mick rolls his eyes whenever he sings the cleaned-up lyric. Let's Spend "Some Time" Together | |
