| Over the weekend, I went to the campground where my Mom & Dad and two brothers each have a seasonal campsite. My oldest brother and I were going to hike through the woods, and look for some good photo spots. Well, I don't know how it happened, but all of the sudden, we were swarmed by children. "Can I go? Can I go?" LOL!! So, we checked with their parents and made sure it was okay for them to go with us, and we all hiked into the woods. We didn't get quite the photos we were expecting, but we had a lot of fun. We were doing head-counts along the way, and the children, for some reason, thought that that was hilarious! :Hahaha: But with that many children along, I didn't want to get back and find that I'd left one under a toadstool or something. But I felt like Maria Von Trapp with all of those children tagging along! :Hahaha: I almost taught them how to sing the "Do Re Mi" song. | |

- Funny, Savannah. This reminds me of the scene in The Sound of Music where the kids are afraid of the thunderstorm, so they all crowd onto Maria's bed. After you finish "Grandma's Feather Bed," maybe you can break into a a few verses of "My Favorite Things." ;)
Oh! You could sing a LHOP version of it: Laura's two apples and Pa Ingall's fiddle, Caroline's pancakes hot off of the griddle, Isaiah Edwards so drunk that he sings, these are my favorite Little House things... (Everyone feel free to add a verse!) - Rob wrote:
- HA! Somehow my avatar of Moe just doesn't go with The Sound of Music.

| Thank you. The scenery is so pretty there. I'd love to just stay there.......I was there tonight, getting the wood gathered for a big campfire with my niece and nephews. I ended up doing something really stupid, though. *rolls eyes* Most of the wood I'd been gathering was really old and dried, so it broke really easily. Even the larger pieces. . . . . After a while, I guess I didn't pay attention to how solid the wood felt. I picked up a piece of wood about three or four inches in diameter, and tried to break it across my shin, like I had the other wood............I stretched out my arms, and brought it down full force against my leg, and . . . . . . . well, this piece wasn't like the other wood. It was very fresh and sturdy, and bounced back off my leg without so much as a crack in it's outer shell. My leg didn't fare as well.......I have a large bruise, and a slight limp to prove it. :Hahaha: | |
