| I don't ask often, but if you could all keep my mom in your prayers I would appreciate it. My dad called just awhile ago to inform me that she had a dizzy spell, fainted and fell down the stairs. She is ok, aside from some bruising...she's in the hospital and they've run an EKG and MRI, both of which have come back normal. But she had a dizzy spell at my house just 2 weeks ago, and then again last week when she climbed some bleachers at a basketball game. Something is definitely wrong, I just don't know what at this point. My sister and I are heading up to the hospital soon to go see her, they're keeping her overnight for observation and some more tests.
Thanks in advance for your prayers “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| How scary Amy. I hope your mom is okay. Maybe it's her blood pressure? I had about 3 dizzy spells one time, one of the times I was my myself in the airport in Philly, it was scary so I started walking to the bathroom praying that I wouldn't faint in the middle of the crowded place... drank some water and started feeling better... but I felt like I had lost my sense of balance or something.
But I didn't get them to the point of actually passing out. Your poor mom. I will keep her in my prayers :alright:

| {{{Amy}}} How scary for you guys! Like Carol and Rhonda said, low blood pressure can cause dizziness, so does low blood sugar. There just so many other reasons too. I hope it's nothing serious. I will pray for your Mom, Amy. Please keep us posted. "Within the heart of every stray, lies the singular desire to be loved." | |

| Savannah, Carol, Farmer Girl, Lori, Rob, Rhonda & Lily...thank you all so very much for praying!!! I really appreciate it. Rhonda & Carol...I think you're right...my sister and I went up to the hospital last night and found out that her blood pressure is indeed very low...107!!! They're going to run more tests today, so I'll keep you guys posted. My mom looks horrible. I guess she fainted in the hall (which is located right outside the kitchen and at the top of the stairs (they live in a ranch), passed out and fell backwards, my dad thinks. My dad was right in the living room, but by the time he got to the top of the stairs he said she was crumpled at the bottom in a fetal position. That was when she came to, she doesn't even remember the fall. I can't even imagine the panic my dad must have felt...he said it all just happened so fast. Anyway, both her eyes are swollen and rug burned!! It seriously looks like my dad punched her! I worry that the hospital will suspect abuse, which would just about kill my dad...if you all only knew how much he adores my mom!!! He's such a jovial guy though...he already had made like 5 new friends after the first 10 minutes in the hospital! That's my dad! Thanks again everyone! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| My heart is with you and your mother, Amy. Be sure I'll be praying for her and for you.
Don't worry. It could be low blood pressure, but also stress. My father had dizzy spells and he even believed he had a brain tumor, but it was nothing physicall. Doctors diagnosed high stress. It was 25 years ago. he is perfectly well now and these episodes never repeated.
Vanesa. :alright: | |

| Thanks Vanessa and Carol. The doctors think it's something electr-cardio. They don't think 107 is low for a woman. Huh?! Seems really low to me. She's still there at the hospital...more testing, and everything coming back ok. But my mom is now SICK!! She got the flu that our whole family has had...a fever of a 102! That's all she needed right now. They wanted her to do a treadmill test, but she can't do that now because she's so sick. I do know these things can be caused by stress, I agree Vanessa, but I don't think this is the case in her life...she's retired now and has less stress in her life than ever before. I just hope they can find something that points to the cause of this fainting! I hate for her to go home with no diagnosis! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| Amy, How frightening for your mom to be going through all of this. It would be difficult to go anywhere, for fear that you may collapse at any given moment. Especially when it has happened more than a couple of times. How scary for your dad as well. Your mom will be in my prayers. | |

| Thank you so much Cheryl, Savannah, Teresa & Christina. I appreciate it!
No word as of yet today...I thought my mom would have gone home yesterday, but I haven't heard from my dad yet, so I'm assuming they're still up at the hospital. I'll keep everyone posted. Thanks again, to everyone, for keeping my mom in my prayers! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

Oh no! I can't believe she is sick now on top of dealing with everything else. I am continuing to keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

| Thank you for your continued prayers and well-wishes everyone! Good news...my mom came home from the hospital today and is feeling much better. She still has the flu, but she sounded in good spirits on the phone. ALL the tests came back normal, so they've decided it's low blood pressure that has been causing these dizzy spells. They said she should be somewhere between 120 and 140 for the high number---she's at 107. She's happy to be home now, but I can tell she enjoyed being pampered in the hospital! I'm going over tonight to see her, with flowers and Dove Bars...my sister, mom & I always make sure we get those for each other when we're hospitalized or recovering. We look out for each other---otherwise we'd never get those sinful things! Again, thank you all for your support. We're just very fortunate she didn't fall and break her neck, considering she went down like a sack of potatoes. Hopefully we'll be able to get this blood pressure raised and we'll make sure she's monitoring it too. And LOL, maybe I'll go out and buy a baby gate for the top of her stairs, just in case! “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| That's wonderful news, Amy!! I'm so glad that your mom is feeling better and that she wasn't seriously hurt when she fell. At least the doctors were able to come to a conclusion that it was most likely her low blood pressure. It's nice that she was able to go home, even though she'll miss the pampering. LOL!! I'm sure your dad will pamper her a little. | |
