| Hey gang.....just thought I'd let you know that Tom Cruise will be interviewed today by Oprah, at 'one' of his homes. Then he'll be in her studio on Monday's show. Should be interesting to hear what he has to say about the whole 'couch-jumping' thing! EDIT* OOOOOPS!! I just realized this should have been posted under the 'celeb' thread! Feel free to move it mods! :shy: “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

| I tivo'd Oprah yesterday and my husband and I watched it last night. My husband was about to vomit 2 minutes into it. LOL!! Oprah had to have walked away from that interview thinking to herself, "Man, is he ever strange." Tom said all of the right things, probably to make up for things that he had said in the past. It was all a bit too"fake" for me. | |

Movie stars do that when their career is sliding, and his was headed for an avalanche. | |

| It was also funny because when Oprah arrived at Tom's beautiful home within the mountains of Telluride, CO, Oprah acted like she had never seen anything so beautiful in all her life. LOL!! We were like, "Helloooooooooo?" Oprah is worth three times as much as Tom Cruise. I'm sure that she has many homes around the world, just as beautiful as Tom's. She just couldn't get over the views. That was a bit too much for me on her end. LOL!! | |

LOL Teresa...I know, I thought the same thing! I think Oprah just really feels things so deeply, and it doesn't matter how many times she's seen something spectacular like that, she's just awed by it. I honestly think that was genuine. And this is weird...I may be delusional and just seeing what I 'want' to see, but I actually found Tom to be very 'human' in that interview. I didn't get that 'fake' vibe that I usually do when he's being interviewed by her. He didn't seem as guarded this time and I honestly saw him as more 'average'. I'm comparing this more to the interviews that he's done with her BEFORE the couch jumping interview---obviously that wasn't guarded. I appreciated that he spoke somewhat about the Scientology and that he does actually believe in God...I didn't know that and it just goes to show how much this religion is exploited in the media. Not that it matters to me that much but he and Oprah discussed how the Youtube video was edited in such a way to make it look like he was preaching and that it was to people who were outside the religion, when he was actually receiving an award and speaking to his own 'congregation'. He also cleared up the whole 'ultrasound' fiasco too. To me, he was genuine...yes, the interview was 'political'...he needs to do damage control and I get that...I may be just seriously gullible but I felt like he meant most of what he said. I believed him when he talked about his in-laws too...clearly he loves them. I know he's an actor, but I'm usually a pretty good judge of when someone is trying to pull something over on me, and I just didn't feel that from him. I'm surprised Oprah didn't bring up more about Katie, how the media has made her out to be 'trapped' in the marriage. I honestly don't believe any of it, or that Tom is as controlling as they're making him out to be. I loved that house!---I found it to be very warm and inviting...I love huge log homes anyway though. Good grief, can you even imagine living there?!?! I laughed when Oprah said his kitchen was so 'normal'! :haha: I was thinking the same thing! Ok, but I have to say a couple of things I truly do NOT like about him. My main issue I take with the whole "Tomkat" thing is that he makes it sound like he's the only one who has EVER known a love like the one he and Katie share. He did it in the couch-jumping show and I felt it again in this interview. I mean, TOM, you're not the only one who's ever known true love! I mean, come on. And the personalized slippers for Oprah right off the bat annoyed me a bit. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”
