Job Change Empty
PostSubject: Job Change   Job Change EmptyTue Aug 19, 2008 11:26 am

I am currently having major problems at the job that I am in. We got a new manager when I was on holidays and since returning, he and I have had some communication problems. He is from another country, not sure which one, and he doesn't understand English very well. I have some disabilities at work and therefore have a different working system than my coworkers. By this I mean, I am not able to work at all stations as everyone else does and so that means I get more time on the ones that I can manage.
I haven't been happy at the job in forever.
Yesterday I went in to see the job specialist at the college I attended last year. She was very helpful and encouraging. I have been very frustrated at trying to find a job all this last year and she helped me to feel better about the process. I do not do change well at all. I have had a heart full of fear, not knowing what the future holds. Please pray for me as I get things straightened out. I haven't quit or got fired from my current job but I definately see the end coming. I'm not happy there.
God is in control and He is my strength. I have to lean on Him and give Him my fears. Not an easy thing for me.
Thanks.

Marilyn I will remember you in prayer. I know how unhappy you have been. There's nothing like spending alot of time somewhere that drags you down. You just need to really go talk with people and get your name out there. It would be great if you could help with children or maybe check with your local library. Those are some things that are always in need. Be open to change because its God who needs you to work. Sometimes when we look at it from those angles its easier to accept. Good Luck.!

I'm sorry you're not happy at your current job, Marilyn. Don't worry, the right thing will come along...think of this as a stepping stone to the job that truly 'speaks' to you and fulfills you. Take your time to find the right one. I'll be praying that you dream job (and dream manager! Wink ) comes along!

I can relate, Marilyn. It's very difficult working in an environment where you are uncomfortable, with people who make it that much more difficult. My prayers for you to get on the path to a good job, where you don't have to deal with such added stress. {{hugs}}

I am absolutely miserable at my job. If I don't leave soon, I am going to crash. Please pray for me. I have been in the same type of business for the past 23 years. I have been with this company since 2000. I am so tired of what I do. But I have no experience in any other area and I feel totally useless. I would leave in a heartbeat but I don't have any other job and no matter where I apply, no one will hire me. Due to my disabilities, I am limited in the types of jobs that I can even think about.
I am emotionally drained. Tears are always just a thought away. I feel so lost. I really wish just one of you lived nearby so I could chat and get a hug.
I know that God is in control but He seems so far away and I am sooooo lonely.

Today was not a good day. I don't think any day will be good there til the very last one. I like my job but I hate being there. PTL, it's a long weekend!!
I have started looking for another job. I have a network of people out there looking and listening for me. I know that God is in control and that He is with me when no one else cares. Things will get better. I have faith.

Marilyn,
I am so sorry that you are going through such a difficult time right now. You will be in my prayers. How have you been feeling as far as your health is concerned? I hope that you are no longer in pain like you were a month or two ago.

Marilyn, I'm sorry for what you're going through too. You're deserving of so much more. You have a good outlook though and a strong faith. I'll continue to pray for you! And like Teresa, I hope your health is at least doing better now. You don't need physical pain on top of everything else.

My health issues that were a concern in April and May are doing much better. They are not completely gone but are controllable now with meds. The stress that I have been going through lately is starting to cause other health problems. I have a dr's appt next month. In a month or so when the weather changes from warm to cold, I will be suffering with migraines due to the berometric pressure. Fun, huh?
Today at work was ok. I am leaning on God, He is my strength,

Hang in there, Marilyn. I know it's easy to say, but it will get better. You will find someplace to work where you don't have to feel so horrible being there. Blue Take it one day at a time, for starters enjoy this long weekend and try to get your mind off work while you don't have to be there for a few days. Maybe that will help you have some peace. I'm praying for you my friend, I know you will find something better. {{hugs}}

PostSubject: Re: Job Change   Job Change EmptyFri Sep 26, 2008 6:00 pm

Today I found out that I have been transferred to another store. I have one week left at my present location and then I move to the new one. I am excited. It will be the same jub but with less people to worry about. Right now I work in a full fledged restaurant but then I will be working in a gas station coffee stand. It will be different but I'm ready for a change. I have been where I am since Apr 2000.
The manager I work for now is the cause for most of the depression that I have been going through. He has no confidence in me and so I have none in myself. Hopefully this will change things greatly for me. I still hope to move on to something better, Lord willing. Tnanks for your prayers

Great news, Marilyn! I hope this last week flies by for you grinsmiley Ugh, a manager like that definitely makes things that much worse. One of my bosses now is someone I rarely talk to b/c he has such a miserable demeanor, and whenever I do need to ask a question, I get so nervous of what his reaction will be...I don't know why people are like that to their employees. Good luck with the new place, let us know all about it Wave

That's wonderful, Marilyn. You'll get adjusted to the new place at no time. Being that it's less people there, so it'll be less stressful for you. Good luck!
