Opened the lid to your outside plastic trash can, that the squirrels chewed a hole through, and one jumped out. That was scarey

They do seem to like to eat the birdseed as well as the feeders themselves. They like to chew openings into our plastic trash can
lids so they can come and dine when they want. There's never any evidence left that you've "potatoed" a squirrel because they eat that, too.
