| I had a dr's appointment today. My employeer wanted a dr's note to be assured that I am healthy enough to work a full day's work. I have only been working 6 hrs a day up to this point. So, I went and got checked out and got the note. He poked and prodded and it only hurt a little. I will continue to work for 6 hrs, my choice, because migraine season is just starting. I have a doozie headache at the moment due to the changing of seasons. The migraines will stop when winter has set in for good and it's freezing cold. So, from now til then, I'll be in a daze. I'm glad that you can't see me. I also mentioned to my dr something that I haven't mentioned to anyone here. Since my illness started I have been going through a lot of depressing days. Life has not been happy. Somedays, I wish that I had never been born. Other days, I wish that there will be no more tomorrows. Things have gotten better over the last week or so but the problems that cause the depresion are not all over. Please pray for me. I have another appt in 2 weeks to see my dr again. He wants to know if I will need other help or am managaing alone. Time will tell. Marilyn | |

| Marilyn, I know you have been through alot dealing with the pain you have experienced in the past several months. I empathize with your feeling of how life has been for you since your accident so many years ago, I'm sure that has been a roller coaster. BUT I also know we are all here for a reason. Its hard to see the what for and why of it when life is so difficult. God does have a plan for us all. Make it your goal to find paths that improve your day. There is always someone else that has it worse than we do. Do whatever it takes to make your Dr. understand how you feel...maybe some counseling would help. I truly think everyone needs it sometime in their life. I for one have had to seek the help of someone that could help me get back on track. It was one of the smartest decisions I've had to make. Lastly, remember you have family that need and love you as well as us NUTS here on the prairie. This website is good only partly because of all things related to Laura, but also because of the LIWNUTS like you that make it whole. Prayer is huge and I will be praying for you to have peace and happiness back in your life. SMILES.....Gin :kitty: It is the lack of Christianity that has brought us where we are. Not a lack of churches or religious forms but of the real thing in our hearts. LIW.....Words From a Fearless Heart | |

| Marilyn, when do you go back to your doctor? See if he/she will recommend you to a counselor. When I went I didnt like the first person I went in to see, so I changed to another one. Above all dont give up. Make it your goal to seek happiness whatever it takes. I know you are someone that holds your faith in high regards, so doing this will only make you stronger to do God's work. We will all be your pep team. SMILE!!!! | Okay in the meantime you need to find things you like to do that help you feel that you have accomplished something. Rhonda and I have had this same conversation in the past 3 months . Failure is only if you never try. You need to spend some time with those nephews and that new neice. Make new memories for them, they will look forward to seeing you again. Make THEM a scrapbook.....keep busy and do whatever it takes to make yourself feel better today. Focus on the day you are in and find Gods wonder in it. Email me if you need to. You know where I am. | I love your ideas, Gin, and you to Christina. I have another one---have you thought about volunteering, Marilyn? That might be a really productive way to get your mind off your troubles, while helping others in the process. You really like kids---maybe helping out in a preschool or daycare center? Or maybe visiting a hospital? I've always wanted to do the "Kangaroo" volunteering at the hospital, where you get to hold preemie babies for that skin to skin contact that they need. There's always a waiting list here to even volunteer for that! Just a suggestion. You are NOT a failure Marilyn. Like Gin said, God does have a plan for you, you just need to find it. Find that faith I know you have in Him, and live in His light. I know it's not easy right now, but you can do it Marilyn. Everyone here has faith in you, and we're all praying for you. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

- Marilyn, you can use 2 talents that you have to help you through this.....You are very knowledgeable about LIW and you love children, so go to the schools in your area and take your books with you and talk to the children about Laura. You have been on many trips with Beth, so you know how she does her presentations, just ask the schools if you can come and talk to the kids about a wonderful author and pioneer.....they shouldn't object to you talking to them for an hour and reading a bit from her books, just enough to get them interested in her and going to the library and checking out Laura's books for themselves.......Who knows, it might work into a job for you either at the schools or at the local library....you can be "The Book Lady" and read to the children...............
I would love to do LIW presentations. Laura is my passion, you all know that. I have customers at work who are teachers and I mentioned doing a presentation to her and she is looking into it. The only problem with doing this on a regular basis is, I don't drive and it would be hard to get to schools on a regular basis. One or two, I can probably do. Someone mentioned volenteer work. I am in the process of filling out an application form to be a volenteer at a home for handicapped children. These kids are all in wheelchairs and do not have the ability to talk. They communicate through love. I am so hoping that I can help these precious ones. They are God's gift to us. But, in the state of mind that I have been in lately, I hope I can do this, emotionally. I have just spent 24 hours with my littlest nephews, 4 & 2 and one month old neice. They along with my other nephews, 17, 15, and 12, are my world, even though all of them live at least an hour or more away. I have scrapbooks on the go for almost all of them and I agree, working on them brings joy. I have started a scrapbook for my summer trip and that has been a lot of fun. Thanks for your prayers everyone. I know that God is good and that He is always with me.

| The volunteer work sounds wonderful, Marilyn. You have so much to share, I know you would be wonderful doing this. You would certainly make a difference for those kids. I do hope it works out.
I think the scrapbooks are a wonderful idea.
You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
